Bob Kaplan is a Distinguished Professor of Health Services at the University of California, Los Angeles.  He is also a Distinguished Professor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.  Currently he is on sabbatical at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Research Instutute.  He is a specialist in health outcomes research and comparative effectiveness studies.  Kaplan lives with his wife, Margaret Gaston in Pacific Grove California and in Pacific Palisades, California
